DOG STOPS A BREAK AND ENTER IN PROGRESS

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an attempt Break and Enter which occurred on August 29, 2017 at approximately 8:30 a.m. on South Street in Fergus.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 8:30 a.m. the property occupant let his dog out on a leash into the backyard. As he did so the dog ran off the porch towards the detached garage. The dog's owner then noticed an unknown male suspect standing at the man door of the garage with his back towards him and appeared to be attempting to gain entry.

The dog grabbed a hold of the jacket that the suspect was wearing in his lower back area and pulled it off him as the suspect fell backwards to the ground. The dog's owner had a hold of the dog's leash and managed to pull the dog away from the suspect and back into the house. The suspect then left.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 30-35 years of age, six feet tall, thin build approximately 140 lbs. He was unshaven, has blue eyes, black shoulder length scruffy hair and was wearing a black rain-style jacket which the dog ripped. He also had on a white t-shirt, blue jeans, brown belt and grey Jordan sneakers. He had poor dental hygiene.

MISCHIEF TO VEHICLE

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On September 5, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a mischief which occurred in a parking lot at an apartment complex at 245 Scotland Street in Fergus.

Investigation revealed that sometime between September 2, 2017 and September 3, 2017 unknown suspect(s) let the air out of all four tires on a 2004 Cadillac. The vehicle was parked in a handicapped parking spot in the apartment complex. It appears that the suspect(s) drilled several holes in all four tires causing over $1000 in damages.

Police are looking for anyone with any information regarding this or any other criminal activity to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

MALE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On September 12, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault that had just occurred at 133 St. Andrew Street East in Fergus.

Investigation revealed that the suspect punched the victim in the face in an unprovoked assault. The victim sustained minor injuries.

26-year-old Christopher STEVENSON of Fergus was arrested and charged with Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 27, 2017.
