THEFT FROM BARN

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) - On December 19, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of from a barn on Wellington Road 86, near Conestoga Lake. Unknown suspects entered the barn and stole 10 vehicle batteries.

On December 20, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a second report of a theft from the same barn on Wellington Road 86. Unknown suspects entered the barn and stole 2 coils of underground wire. OPP believe the two thefts are possibly related.

CHARGES LAID AFTER DEBIT CARD THEFT

(TOWN OF MINTO) - On December 31, 2017 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a theft of a debit card from a residence on Elizabeth Street, Town of Harriston.

Investigation revealed a female was suspected of taking the debit card while visiting the residence the day prior. Further investigation revealed the suspect using the card multiple times at area businesses.

51-year-old Jennifer DOUCETTE of Harriston has been charged with: Theft of Credit Card and Use of Credit Card x 8

She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court February 6, 2018 to answer to the charges.

STOLEN VEHICLE LEADS TO DRUGS

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On Tuesday, January 2, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a stolen motor vehicle near Elora Street North, Clifford. The sedan was reported stolen from Arthur on December 30, 2017.

While speaking with occupants at a residence near-by, investigators discovered that one residence was connected to the stolen vehicle. Police also became aware of quantities of methamphetamines and cocaine in the residence. The five occupants were charged.

32-year-old, Tyler James GEIGER, of Chesley, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was also charged with Failing to Comply with Probation Order and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on February 9, 2018.

38-year-old, April Lindsay TONE of Ayton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She was also charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order, contrary to the Criminal Code. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on February 9, 2018.

56-year-old, David Dwight PYKE, of Clifford, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was also charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on February 9, 2018.

35-year-old, Nicholas Arthur WARNER, of Huron-Kinloss Township, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on February 9, 2018.

21-year-old, Brandon Robert Wayne MITCHELL of Southgate Township was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was also charged with Failing to Comply with Probation Order, Failing to Comply with Recognizance, Obstruct Police and Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest, contrary to the Criminal Code. He was held for bail.
